This is celebrated in the beginning of the the summer festival season in it is dedicated to the ritual cooling of the deities during the scorching summer heat is celebrated for 42 days and is divided into two phases, Bahara Chandan Yatra (outer Chandan Yatra) and Bhitara Chandan Yatra (inner Chandan Yatra).

This year 2025 Chandan Yatra begins in Akshaya Tritiya which falls in Hindu month of Baisaka (April and May ). In 2025 the festival will be held on Friday 2nd may which will held for 42 days including Bahara Chandan- first 21 days, where deities are taken on ceremonial boat rides outside the temple . bhitara Chandan Yatra-where last 21 days, rituals are continue inside the temple premises only.
Significance of Chandan Yatra

Mainly devotee waits for the procession to Narendra pookhari which is the Narendra tank where the deities are placed on a beautiful decorated boats called chappa and taken for the divine boat ride.
